Winemaking:

The vineyard elevation is approximately 2000 feet . Very dry, hot summers, cold winters, harsh plains of Rioja.

In early October, grapes are harvested by hand in small baskets, from estate grown organic vines averaging 50 years old.  The wine is made using traditional methods passed down by the family elders.   The clusters are soft pressed and fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.  The wine is then racked and  spends 24 months in both American and French barrels.

Tasting Notes:

Intense dark, ruby red color, spice notes, jam and leather.

On the palate, blackberry, balsamic, nice minerality and balanced tannins.  A long and deep finish, leather, ripe berries and long elegant lingering notes.
